Q: WHAT IS THE MINIMUM AND MAXIMUM NUMBER OF AUDIENCE MEMBERS PER SHOW?
A: There is no minimum or maximum. We are happy to do up to three shows per day in any one venue and for as many days as you wish us to accommodate. We do however charge a fixed fee for numbers of 100 or less per show.
Q: WHEN AND HOW DO WE PAY?
A: We know all of the formalities that are involved and we think you have enough to do so unlike other companies we do not ask for a deposit, however, full payment is expected on the day of the show in either cash or by cheque. Please speak to us before the booked date to let us know how you will be paying and if you require a special arrangement for payment to be made at any other time or in any other way.
Q: WHAT IS THE BOOKING PROCEDURE?
A: 1.You pick three dates that fit into your school schedule and provide us with anticipated numbers for each show.
2.To do this either telephone us on 050 853 9123. Email or complete the contact form on this website
3. We will then advise you of those dates that are free and you confirm back by mail which one you would like.
4. We will then email a booking confirmation along with terms & conditions of booking.
Q: WHAT FACILITIES DO WE NEED FOR YOU TO STAGE THE SHOW?
A: We will 'POP UP' in whatever facilities you have, but the more that you can provide the better. The minimum requirement is a staging area, 7 tables, 7 chairs, and enough bottled drinking water for seven people. We carry our own lights and sound but as we are a very small team we would be grateful if you were able to make some operational staff available to help with the get in and get out.
Q: HOW BIG SHOULD THE STAGING AREA BE?
A: The show requires a performing space (preferably above floor level) of approximately 15ft wide by 9 ft deep and a minimum height of 7 ft (4.6m w x 3m d x 2m h). However, we are fully aware that not all schools are as well equipped and will be flexible and adapt to whatever space you can provide without compromising the integrity of the show.
Q: WHAT KIND OF SEATING IS REQUIRED?
A: We will work around whatever seating arrangements you have in your school. However, we do find that if children are uncomfortable they will fidget…chairs are recommended but if they are seated on the floor, matt’s or rugs are more comfortable than a cement floor.
Q: HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE YOU TO SET-UP BEFORE THE SHOW AND CLEAR-UP AFTERWARDS?
A: The get-in/fit-up and preparation time is approx 70 minutes before the first show. The strike/get-out time is 70 minutes after the final show.
Q: HOW DO YOU GET ALL OF YOUR SCENERY,COSTUMES, EQUIPMENT AROUND?
A: We have a truck with a driver and will require access that is as close as possible to the performing space to unload and re-load.
Q: WHAT IS THE STORY OF THE SHOW?
A: A full synopsis of the show can be found on our website
Q: WILL THERE BE ANY SCARY CHARACTERS IN THE SHOW?
A: No. We aim to entertain children by making them laugh, not cry. There is usually a 'baddie' or two but we aim to make them comical and not frightening for our audiences. The use of masks etc will always be explained and demonstrated before the show starts so that no child is taken by surprise or is scared.
Q: SHOULD OUR MUSLIM PARENTS HAVE CONCERNS WITH REGARD TO THE 'CULTURAL ASPECT' OF THE STORY.
A: No having lived here in the UAE for the last eleven years (two of which were in Sharjah working directly for His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council of United Arab Emirates, and Ruler of Sharjah) Lori is acutely aware of, and remains sensitive to the location in which we perform. The costumes are all designed with modesty and the location in mind and our scripts are all written to be culturally sensitive.
Q: SHOULD WE TELL OUR CHILDREN TO SIT STILL AND BE QUIET THROUGH THE PERFORMANCE
A: No please don’t do that we invite the children to participate. Our shows are highly interactive and we ask them to move around, to sing and to give their opinions and advice to the cast. We encourage them to cheer the heroes and boo the baddies…..loudly! However, we do encourage active listening so that they know when to participate.
